The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Applications Developer to join our Information Technology team. We are seeking an individual who is detail oriented, self-driven and able to program unique internal applications.
This Development position will be responsible for agency-wide application development in a team environment; maintain existing applications and provide support to users in the operations of the application and programs; produce reporting from new and existing applications as needed or requested. Meet with management and stakeholders to determine new application requirements, design and code new applications according to the needs and desires of management and stakeholders; test and debug new applications and support applications after the development process is concluded. Good organizational and customer service skills are a must.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Microsoft SQL Databases 2008 or later
Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 or later
Microsoft Access database migration to SQL
Microsoft IIS 6 and/or 7, Windows Server 2008-12 Active Directory
VB.Net, ASP, C#.NET, MVC (Entity Framework) web application programming
Industry standard software testing procedures, software terminology, computer and peripheral equipment capabilities
Web site and page development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap)
Microsoft Azure
SKILLS IN:
Source code control using Team Foundation Server
Report writing using SQL Reporting Services
Microsoft SQL 2008-16 stored procedure and script writing
Communication with non-technical personnel
Problem solving and initiate corrective action
ABILITY TO:
Provide superior customer service
Meet strict deadline requirements
Prioritize based on project plan
Take direction and work within a team environment
Work independently and within a team and adapt to changing priorities
Three years minimum experience in developing custom web-based applications
Migration of Access applications to web-based applications
Experience as a Project Manager
Knowledge or training on ITIL Methodology

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Mandatory condition of Employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria defined in statue. Current contribution rate is 12.17%. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
