This opportunity to join the ADOT team is specifically for our Pump Stations.  No, that’s not a code word for gym.  ADOT has a very cool and complex drainage system built into our infrastructure underneath the hydraulic grade of our freeways and interstates. When it rains water flows from the freeway and large mechanical pumps remove the water and redistribute it to water channels and rivers to ensure safety of motorists and nourishment of our environment.  Seems pretty cool right? Inside the pump station, the pumps need to be maintained.  This means working with mechanical and electrical aspects of pump station engines and equipment.  It also includes going underground and working in confined spaces, repairing, inspecting, and preparing the pump system in the event of a storm.  Worried you might not have enough experience?  Pump station team members always support each other working in the field in pairs.  There are over 68 pump houses in the Phoenix Metro area that require inspection and audit regularly.  You’ll get to travel to many pump houses and contribute to the greater transportation system safety, which is work you can be really proud of.  If you are looking for a career with ADOT that exercises your many skills as a mechanic, electrician, quality control specialist, equipment operator, and general problem solver, then this one's for you.
