Salary: $39.60-$58.73/hr

Job Summary:

Within the professional speech/language scope of practice, for evaluating, diagnosing, and providing direct intervention with students to treat speech, voice, fluency, and language disorders in students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Job Duties:
  • Developing a variety of speech and language treatment plans;
  • Administering and screening speech and language assessments;
  • Screening, evaluating, and writing comprehensive reports on evaluated students;
  • Assisting in the development of the IEP;
  • Consult/participate in the multidisciplinary evaluation team;
  • Provide direct therapy and instruction to students;
  • Developing a variety of therapy and instructional strategies;
  • Consulting with staff and parents regarding speech/language needs of the student.
  • Participates in MIPS (Medicaid in Public Schools) as directed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis and treatment of hearing/speech disorders
  • Strategies for articulation and language development
  • Relevant medical, social, and legal community resources
  • Assessment instruments and methodologies
  • Current relevant research related to speech pathology and children
  • Safety procedures
  • Augmentative-Alternative Communication systems and interventions
  • Identification of students' communication needs as they relate to the Expanded Core Curriculum
Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Speech Pathology
• Arizona Department of Health Services (AzDHS) Speech-Language Pathology License
• Current Arizona Department of Education Certificate as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) Certificate with Certificate (CCC) of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
• AHCCCS number for Medicaid billing within four months of hire

• Must be able to pass FBI and State background check of Fingerprint Clearance Card as position requires by policy or Statute
