JOB SUMMARY:

The Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) is currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated IT professional for the position of Systems/Network Engineer located in Phoenix, Arizona. Reporting to the Systems/Network Manager, this position is responsible for all aspects of networking and information technology systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, architecture, design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of both on-prem and cloud IT infrastructure.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Assume full lifecycle responsibility for cloud, SaaS, and on-prem systems and projects.
  • Administrate on-prem, cloud-based, and SaaS systems.
  • Provide guidance, assistance, and knowledge transfer.
  • System architecture, design, build, and production rollout.
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Respond promptly to customer requests for service and assistance while taking a customer-centric approach to problem-solving.
  • Solicit customer feedback to improve service.
  • Lead initiatives to develop solutions and processes based upon business needs.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; sets goals and objectives; uses time efficiently; communicates activities and results as appropriate.
  • Includes understanding and practical application of project management and business analysis principles and tools.
  • Reviews and recommends equipment, resources, software, and services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Deep working knowledge of enterprise on-prem and cloud infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience with Windows server environments, enterprise virtualization, network infrastructure, storage infrastructure, and backup methodologies.

Skill in:

  • Expert troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in information system configuration management.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Ability to:

  • Demonstrated ability to balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships inside and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and write technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and test emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform full system architecture, design, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to quickly familiarize with and support SaaS and homegrown applications, components, and platforms.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience, plus 5 years of experience in system architecture, design & implementation.
  • Experience in design and implementation of data and analytic systems, including database and LLM installation, configuration, and integration.

Positions in this classification are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Please note that enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment.
