This position serves as manager of Systems and Support functions and staff in the Information Technology division. The job is responsible for maintaining the overall health and reliability of the ACC agency network and related computer systems and applications including PCs; for providing Agency personnel and external customers as needed, with help resolving any issues that arise while using ACC computers, printers, scanners, and other equipment, as well as office productivity software. To accomplish this, the position has four responsibilities in the organization:
1. Manage the network systems and support desk teams.
2. Participate as a member of the IT Management team in strategic planning and overall division success.
3. Function as a project coordinator with the IT PMO manager as needed over Systems, Desktop Support or other technical initiatives or projects. projects.
4. Serve as a network systems subject matter expert for the agency in network design and security.
5. Serve as manager of cloud systems and network systems (subject matter expert for the agency) in cloud/network design and security.
Management:
Manage, guide, and mentor system and support administrators and technicians to procure, repair, maintain, or upgrade network systems and computer workstations.
Set clear goals and expectations for all direct reports.
Create and promote a productive work environment, ensuring that the skills and competencies necessary to perform the jobs are in place and meet the goals of the team, division, and agency.
Problem Troubleshooting and Resolution:
Provide technical expertise to solve complex information technology problems related to procuring, repairing, maintaining or upgrading the network/system and computer workstations.
Resolve escalated issues or work orders from ACC staff and Commissioners with professionalism, tact, and customer orientation.
Project Management:
Collaborate with IT PMO on multiple projects as needed involving resource SME and staff planning, sustaining tasks that procure, repair, maintain, or improve the network and computer workstations.
Design for approval and manage to key performance indicators to ensure the team is meeting goals.
Ensure SLAs are met for various work effort types, within division priorities, and expectations for Systems and Support.
Communication and Collaboration:
Work with customers as well as business and technical managers to solve complex business problems, plan and prioritize goals, projects, and sustaining work activities needed to procure, repair, maintain, and improve network and computer work stations and result in successful software releases.
Security:
Ensure network plans and improvements are in place to minimize security risks, ensure disaster recovery, maintain high network availability, and to keep technologically up-to-date
Knowledge:
-Complex TCP/IP network configurations and implementations.
-Complex virtualized hardware use cases for enterprise networks.
-Complex enterprise storage use cases for enterprise networks.
-Complex VLAN and layer 3 switching use cases for enterprise networks.
-Complex and multi-tiered security architectures and practices for enterprise networks.
-Standards-based IT governance models (ITIL, CoBIT, MOF).
-General enterprise data center management (on-premise and cloud).
-Working knowledge of PC imaging and troubleshooting.
-Microsoft Exchange, Hyper-V, SharePoint, and SQL server management.

-A deep understanding of all facets of management and leadership, as well as a vision for the specific business program/function being managed.

-Undergraduate degree (or equivalent industry experience) in computer and network management.
-5 or more years of experience as senior network administrator with Cisco, Palo Alto and, Barracuda firewalls, Azure Cloud, multiple Microsoft servers.
-Multiple years of experience supervising a technical team of 3 or more.
