Job Summary:

The Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) is seeking an exceptional Trade & Media Specialist to provide support to the Trade and Media Relations Divisions. You will provide day-to-day execution of division programs and customer service initiatives. The workload will be a combination of projects coupled with execution of daily marketing initiatives.

Job Duties:
  • Assist Division Director and Managers with coordination of all trade shows and missions to include delegate participation, payment, shipping, etc.
  • Distribute and fulfill all lead reports generated from all trade shows and sales missions. Maintain updated contacts database in CRM system.
  • Assist the team with the coordination of familiarization tours as requested by travel agents, tour operators, media and contracted international market representatives.
  • Experience with B2B email campaigns - Distribute a regular e-newsletter to media contacts and travel trade using content developed by the trade/media team.
  • Update appropriate Trade and Media Relations monthly KPIs and compile the Trade and Media Relations Monthly Reports on a timely basis.
  • Manage and file all digital press clippings on a monthly basis.
  • Work directly with the fulfillment contractor responsible for receiving, storing and shipping trade and media collateral materials.
  • Fulfill requests from trade, media and international market representatives for printed collateral.
  • Manage trade & media website updates in CMS including public events calendar on VisitArizona.com.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

  • Experience in tourism and recreation management, destination marketing, hospitality or travel industry a plus.
  • Google platform experience helpful (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive).

Skills:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-direction and the ability to exercise skills; independent judgment and meet deadlines.
  • Have excellent effectual listening skills and performance standards with or without demonstrated ability in verbal and written supervision, with a record of achieving communication.
  • Computer literacy to include word processing, spreadsheet and database manipulation, Excel, Access and Power Point.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct, explain, persuade, negotiate, and facilitate, including skill in writing and analyzing data received through a variety of resources, drawing conclusions, and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Must have excellent presentation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills including the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and prioritize multiple projects and efficiently work under pressure.

Ability:

  • Self-direction and the ability to exercise independent judgement and meet performance standards with or without supervision, with a record of achieving positive results.
  • Ability to work independently and to contribute in a team environment.
  • Perform these and other duties as required with energy, enthusiasm, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar marketing or PR role, preferably in a tourism environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years previous experience and/or Bachelor's degree in business, journalism or communication.
