The Division of Business Services - Office of Professional Development (OPD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Instructional Designer focusing on creating learning and training materials for DES Operations and Leadership. In this role you will design curriculum for broad functions including HR Training, Leadership Development, Professional Development, and leadership soft skills, as well as instructional material for fleet services, financial operations, procurement, and DES agency wide training. You will use your creativity and breadth of course design knowledge extensively in this role.
The Instructional Designer is responsible for the development of an agency-wide training curriculum for delivery to Department employees. The position designs, develops, implements, revises, and evaluates courseware that meets both training industry and Department standards as well as any identified performance goals or business objectives. It collaborates with Department leadership regarding employee training, development, and accomplishments, and coordinates computer-based training as needed, including outreach or special events.
The successful candidate will identify training needs on an ongoing basis through assessments, surveys, and meetings with work groups, consulting with systems business analysts and Department policy staff, and conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) on organizational requirements and performance measures. Additionally, they will assess present and future needs to develop educational goals and objectives, initiate related curriculum, instructor guides, reports, and correspondence, and will prepare audio and visual materials related to the assigned training areas
This position will require travel around the State to meet the needs of the Department and the Agency. The role may offer the ability to work a hybrid schedule within Arizona requiring one or more days per week in-office attendance, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
