We are seeking an energetic communicator with strong expertise in adult learning principles to perform as a TRAINING OFFICER I, who coordinates and delivers staff training, and develops programs within an assigned ADCRR Complex. In this position, you will also oversee initiatives such as Annual Training Plan, New Employee Orientation, Core Competency Testing, and Staff surveys.

- Supports employee training, and development activities for the assigned Complex
- Plans, and executes logistics
- Monitors registration, coordinates and tracks attendance, maintains AZ Learns courses and participant records
- Implements, and reports results of instructor and course evaluations
- Oversees Complex staff instructors, supervises initial training and certifications
- Evaluates ongoing performance
- Supports Staff Development and Training Bureau, Complex, or ADCRR wide projects and initiatives (e.g., curriculum development, process improvement) appropriate to the position
- Facilitates classes, workshops, and/or New Employee Orientation as needed
- Demonstrates best practices in training delivery applicable to a Corrections setting
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree in related field to Training and Development (e.g., Adult Education, Communication, Organizational Development), or equivalent work experience
- Work experience in an ADCRR Complex, or other State Corrections environment is highly desirable
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
