Performs the most difficult and more complex in nature duties of analysis maintaining large, and complex project schedules.
Develops and updates critical path schedule customizations; maintains project management information. Delivers projects as programmed. Reconciling data, ensuring accuracy, generate reports through critical path methods.
Provides guidance setting up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project contract requirements. Provides counseling and guidance of scheduling review to subordinate staff and oversight of the Value Engineering program.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Performs the most difficult and more complex analysis regarding progress and critical paths, comparing with target baselines, report variances and communicates status. Identify and convey strategies that will provide deliverables timely and within the approved targeted budget. Completing claims reviews accordingly. Develop Critical Path Method (CPM), resource driven customized schedules based on scoping documents. Evaluate project schedules, resource needs, performance measurements and resource leveling.
Facilitate quality assurance and internal improvements by control coding of the dictionaries in the scheduling system, reconciling the most complex data differences. Verify data accuracy of information reported in the Active Project Status Report (APSR) document and keep internal procedure updates as processes are improved. Analyze and evaluate user's technical questions, provide solutions, and answer questions. Develop and update weekly short interval schedule working with field engineers.
Explore and evaluate improved project management processes and tools. Manage the in-house projects to integrate these tools into our environment with existing project management applications or new developed applications (tools) to ensure these are on time, within budget and the deliverables meet ADOT's standards. Participate in the management of ADOT's Value Engineering Program.
Knowledge of:
*Project development process for highway projects.
*Current project management tools and techniques.
Skill in:
*Utilization of project scheduling software including activity and logic development, critical path method analysis, resource loading, target and variance analysis and reporting.
*Creating and maintaining complex networks.
*Utilizing a variety of project management, database applications and other various computer software programs, such as Primavera, Sure Trak, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Google Workplace, and SQL.
*Teamwork, communication, listening, interpersonal and analytical skills.
Ability to:
*Research, read, and interpret a variety of technical information and documents.
*Discuss and evaluate new proposals for complex applications with users and prepare detailed specifications for automated procedures.
*Coordinate and direct activities within a project including time, cost schedule, and quality review points.
Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
Five years experience creating and maintaining Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules using Primavera software.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
A valid Arizona PE is required for this position. A candidate who holds an active PE in another state will be required to meet registration requirements set forth by the Arizona Technical Board of Registration and attain an Arizona PE from the Board within 6 months of employment start date.
