Manage 200–250 airport development, planning, and land acquisition projects across 65 airports. Issue and amend state grants, verify project eligibility, process payments, and approve change orders. Track grant status, establish ADOT accounts, and consult with the FAA on joint-funding issues. Assist with the annual 5-year Capital Improvement Project for State Transportation Board approval, reviewing plans and coordinating stakeholder communications. Travel extensively across Arizona to conduct on-site project inspections, ensure grant compliance, and host stakeholder meetings.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Review, evaluate, and process sponsor documents submitted for grant eligibility and compliance. Documents include: grant applications, consultant contracts, construction contracts, grant reimbursement requests, and other program and project related documents. Research, prepare, and process all grant agreements, change orders, and grant amendments for complete documentation of grant coordination and approvals.
Review reimbursement applications to approve/deny reimbursement, review project costs and supporting documentation, and to ensure compliance with multiple agency requirements. Communication with FAA and airport sponsors in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Conduct meetings between FAA sponsors and consultants to provide information that assists in the completion of projects, to plan for future projects, and to ensure projects remain within scope, budget, and on schedule, Manage 200-250 airport development, planning, and land acquisition projects for 65 airports.
Coordinate with airport sponsors and other agencies to prepare the five year program for State Transportation Board review and approval, which includes evaluation of project/program submittals, providing technical and eligibility assistance, prioritization, and final documentation review and preparation. Organize and present Priority Planning and Advisory Committee agenda items for Aeronautics Group. Top 5% of recommended items go to State Transportation Board for their review and approval/denial.

Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning, Urban Management and Development, Aviation Management, GIS, or relevant degree.
Two (2) years experience in aviation management or other relevant related field. Any combination of training and experience that meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) may be substituted.
Valid Driver's Licence with acceptable 39 month MVR - This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
